Well, I'm very glad you noticed all of this. I'm seeing the same thing on Ubuntu: anything with GTK widgets sees serious CPU use. I get all of the other problems you describe as well. My first guess was the glib polling I'm doing, but I trimmed that all out and no difference. Still drilling. _why
