Hi Mike! I did not try, but I've just tried now, but with no luck. It gives me an error about libungif. On http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.shoes/131/ I think I tried to go deep on the matter. I've also tried rake PPC=1 and same error. try with macports though, now works like a charm (for why: on PPC work both rake and rake PPC=1). I really would like to write more, but I've a train to catch (1100 km to attend a wedding looks like a nightmare ><) but I wanted to try the deps before disappearing for a couple of days. I think I can give you/prepare a compiled deps for PPC now I'm able to build it and give it to why.
