Uh, an edit control in raw Shoes? I thought _that_ went against tininess.
An edit control, atop Pango, must position the text caret correctly between any
two characters, and then insert new characters correctly. They might be
bi-directional, such as Arabic with embedded English. Next, they might be
composite, such as a Devenagari accent mark. The user types the base character
first, then the little accent on the bottom of यू.
