There was an error with this build when grabbing remote images or  
using the download function (at least on Macs).  I get the same  
thing.  I believe someone else posted they downloaded the latest  
source from git and everything was working.  A commit note from Nov 26  
states:

 * shoes/http/nsurl.m: fixed crash with downloader on os x,  
introduced by
 premature freeing of memory in commit b716d34.
