Ruby pthreads

Hey folks,

So I was digging around trying to figure out some performance issues  
involving Ruby at work. Turns out that enabling pthreads can give you  
quite a performance wallop on OSX and Linux. Got me wondering if  
pthreads is enabled in the Ruby that Shoes uses. Anybody know off  
they top of their head?  What version of Ruby is used with Shoes?
