Hi Aaron,

  I pushed a fix to this to my fork of shoes that it looks like _why pulled
to his tree on Jan 27, so if you pull the latest code from his branch and
build it, it should be fine.  If not, you can also try applying the patch
yourself.  A link is to the patch is here:
