I couldn't get that to work for me (but I didn't try all that hard)...
might work for you. As he states, if your code uses Net::HTTP then you
will probably have issues resolving domain names on windows (although
domain resolution works fine on OSX).

... I'm hoping _why will get to all the http bugs in the next version of shoes.
