If you can show it fails on your system when it ought to work and we can
find which systems fail similarly, that would be useful to _Why.
If you keep the code in some version control system, it would help when
trying to move back and forth like this. Lots to choose from and it's
a topic in itself. I've not found one that's really intuitive to teach
people, especially those used to GUIs.
