Hi Developers,

I am currently a junior student studying Applied Mathematics at the University
of Toronto. I am interested in applying for GSOC this year, and Implementing
Gaussian Process models is one of the most attractive potential topics to me. I
have taken courses in Statistical Machine learning and Data Mining, and have
actually spent time implementing Gaussian Process Models for regression for an
assignment in the course. I am also currently taking a course in Probabilistic
Graphical Models, and this course covers the other part of the project, which
is Variational inference (and lots of other exciting methods - check it out
here http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~zemel/inquiry/courses_home.php?ID=5&SEM=10). I
am also currently working on a project (which is supposed to be a year-end
project for this course), working on Modelling Networks using (Gaussian) belief
propagation on Graphical Models. I would really appreciate some feedback (or
questions?) regarding this topic and my background as I want to start working
on my proposal soon enough.

Thanks,

Amanjit
