Hi everyone, I am Saurabh, I will be working this summer on the GSOC project titled Fundamental ML: usual suspects. I am studying in my final year B.E. Electronics in BITS Pilani, Goa India.
The idea of the project is to improve the implementations of many basic ML algorithms in Shogun. Improvements will target around efficiency (updating legacy code with easy to maintain and efficient code, multicore computations, etc.) as well as ease of use. We will be using an existing framework <https://github.com/zoq/benchmarks> to benchmark the algorithms. I plan to touch various algorithms including regression, clustering, decision trees, etc. If you have ideas/suggestions feel free to pitch in via IRC/mail. Looking forward, Saurabh
