I was able to drop my handicap by 6 strokes (14 to 8) after going to a set of forged blades. I have not gone back to a set of cast cavity backs but I believe the feedback i get from playing blades would allow me to play a cast cavity much better than I used to before the switch. There is nothing like hitting a 3 iron blade thin in the winter when your hands are almost frozen to force you to learn how to hit the ball in the sweet spot.
