Pressure needed is 70-90 lbs. Clamp shaft in gripping vise, put a tube (PVC or reinforced vinyl drain from Home Depot) over grip shoot mineral spirits (about one half ounce) into vent hole of grip, shoot air into vent hole in 3-4 second bursts, grip will expand inside tube and "pop" when it reaches the throat of the grip, remove tube, in short bursts of air while twisting grip, grip will slide off shaft. You can, with practice, even remove Winn Grips. Worst are Callaway grips and Tour Velvet because rubber is thin and they tend to explode thus leaving a large tear. Go slow if you get stuck SLOWLY remove blow gun tip (watch for spray), shoot in more solvent, replace tube and proceed with more air. It is the greatest way to remove grips or to reposition them. Also the fastest way to INSTALL grips! Use a small (approx 4") amount of grip tape, wet down in usual way, blow air through the vent hole while sliding grip on. REMOVE BLOW GUN WHILE HOLDING the grip in place so it doesn't blow off! When regripping you can blow on new grips without new grip tape (using old tape which stays intact when grip is blown off), just dip mouth of new grip in solvent and start on last half inch of butt and blow on the rest of the way. WEAR SAFETY Goggles! You will get the knack of it very quickly and wonder why you ever did it any other way!
