But I don't have the data to back it up. And as long as the club is performing well, I'm not strongly motivated to re-reshaft it just to find out. One way of testing the hypothesis is to get a pair of identical utility heads with .370 iron bores, and put in an iron shaft and similar-model wood shaft. Examples might be the Jackaroo from Dynacraft and Velociteque from Hireko. > Buy the way what loft is it? And do you know the lie? It's 18* loft. I don't know the lie angle. At 18* loft, there isn't much directional error from small lie errors, and the sole camber is big enough so a scuff will catch near the middle anyway. But I ought to measure it when I have it in the shop next time. > I've seen so many of these style heads and the question always comes up what > length should I make it, well it depends on what it weighs at say 224 g 41" > would give you a nice SW with a 75 g shaft but it may need to be shorter with > a heavier shaft, but if the lie is say 58* that might bring you back to your > 41" and suggest you need a lighter shaft. It is just under 40" with the Patriot shaft. I built it as long as I could keeping the swingweight no greater than D1. It has a very heavy head, 232g even without the added tungsten weight. I know what you're saying though, and I'll check lie -- and, better yet, give it a scuff test. If it wants to be more upright (i.e.- longer, because I'm not bending it), then I'll have to go to a graphite shaft. So TFlan, keep us informed how that .350" wood shaft works out. Cheers!
