Just read an article from Dynacraft on removing shafts from clubheads using a deep fryer and sand to safely remove the head and protect the clubhead finish...has anyone tried this method? They use a small deep fryer, fill it with sand to cover the hosel to a spot just below the top of the hosel. Shaft should not touch the sand. Clubhead should not touch any part of the deep fryer, either. Heat to 250 deg F and then insert the clubhead for 15 minutes. Remove and put in shaft puller and pop the shaft off. They caution that it's not suggest on clubs that have inserts or any type of weights installed in the clubhead as the glue bond could weaken. I haven't tried it yet but I do have an old beat up fryer begging to be put back in service.
