flame from my MicroTorch into the bore at the bottom to heat things
up.
Simple lesson! Use a shaft puller, on a bore through head heat the tip plug (gently) insert a dental pick into the soft plastic and pull out the plug (save for reuse), keep the flame moving (up and down and all around), turn off the torch, set the torch down in a safe place (this allows time for the heat to penetrate the hosel), and NOW crank off the head with the shaft puller, catch the head with a GLOVED HAND. IF THE HEAD DOESN'T MOVE APPLY MORE HEAT AND PRESSURE.
