I've always used mineral spirits for my grips. It works well and it's very
cheap, $1.39 a gallon locally. I clean up my uncured epoxy with denatured
alcohol. I once had a weird application where I wanted a very thin epoxy so
I could apply it with a paint brush. I cut the epoxy 50/50 with alcohol and
it worked fine.
