All, Not only are my balls to high, they are to right. A back injury in the spring has left me trying to change from a hitter to a swinger(about time). This approach has shown some merit, but..I no longer have a nice predictable slice, I have an on again off again army thing going. You know the little sign at the end of the tee box that says SCATTER...ya that's me.
I have taken 4 lessons..first since '88 and have noted some improvement, my pro's..Father, son and an apprentice, have all have taken interest in why I continue to fail " At one point, the Son was telling my wife that they had sorted me out, and I told her that they didn't see me shank it at the first tee onto the 10'th fairway. Gee! I'm surprised your not hooking them by now. you have a perfect setup..your club end points at the ball as you initiate the swing, your hands stay ahead of the club..your not coming over the top your finish is stretched out and in balance..but you release a tiny bit late.."Instant Kevy Chicquita" Geez I wish these guys would write all the stuff they said down. I was given the left foot forward, right foot rearward balance drill and can honestly say I hit the ball better in this position. Since the lessons my 5 iron has dropped from 200-205 down to 160-180 yards, thats improvement! At the range I can duck hook it (again onto the 10th fairway), slice it hard to the chipping green and take solace from the nice lady trying to make me feel better. Only after she leaves can I pure one. Damn I coulda been an artist, I'm so conflicted with my incredibly frustrating favourite game. I have spent hours practising with my old Parallax irons with DG R300's, damn heavy..3-I = 247grams and increments at 7 grams up the scale. Currently they swing at D6-D7 or so. These thing can wear you out. Just put together a set of GS TCP's swinging at D2, these will require an adjustment period. I used the TT Lite DG R300 tipped an extra inch to R400 or so, and find them quite light. Off centre hits provide feed back but no pain and feel slightly muted. (nice, but they are not Mizuno Mp-33's}I'm not sure if its the shaft or the head. Pured hits are 'Sweeter than Apple Butter'(Warren Zevon 1969) I'm not sure if I'm looking for comments or just venting. If any of you'se can offer therapy, swing or other, comedy or other, (sans SP) please feel free. Kevin Bundschuh Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada Handicap: Golf & Calculus
