I hit the Purple Ice in my 975 J this summer and like it a lot but for some reason I seemed to get a fairly high ball flight with it, though.
I switched to a MFS65N and that has been perfect for me. I've got the orange one in mine but the midnight blue looks really classy with the grey head. Great trajectory, feel, distance and control. Highly recommended. $62.
I have a 100 mph swingspeed and use an R3 with a shafting depth of about 2.25 inches or so (not the entire 3.25 inch bore depth).
You might also have him look at the new AJ Tech Metal ZTour65...cool new paint treatment (actually clear coat over metal material). I hit a firm in this shaft.

Hello All, I have a friend with a 975J that's thinking of having it reshafted. He just had Titleist reshaft his 981 irons with the GAT95 shafts, and loves them. Here's the question(s).
