Ed, I recently ordered some Raven excelsior shafts (8) and had the same problem. The CPM range across the 8 shafts was over 14 CPM. I ordered an additional 8, and found the same variation. I was able to get 8 that were pretty close, and I sent the other 8 back. I ordered Excelsior shafts earlier in the year and did not have this problem. I believe that Tony at Raven told me that they switched manufacturers on these shafts, and that may be the problem. They were using Nippon, but apparently they couldn't get the shafts from them at a consistent rate. Don't know who makes the shafts now.
