Here's a pretty good one, I think.

I spoke with a guy Sunday who wants a SW. He's been reading the catalogs and has noticed that Cleveland is offering wedges with bounce angles of 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 degrees. He's thinking that a 4° bounce would be perfect so he's going to order one from Cleveland. I asked how he knew a 4° would be the correct wedge. He said he and his kid hit wedges at the range and the 4° worked the best. I asked what range he practiced at. The range was one with worn down mats. So I told him that from a thin mat or hard pan or perhaps short Bermuda grass, a 4° would maybe be o.k. But, I suggested an 8° x 54° as an alternative, or perhaps even a 10°. I told the guy that all he had to do from a skinny lie was to play the ball slightly back in his stance, thereby reducing bounce.

Nope.

The guy "knows" what he needs.

He's a 28 handicapper.

I love customers like that.
