Geez, Doc, your eyes must be getting as bad as mine...having to use all that
large-size, multi colored type. :-)

A guess, some questions and some comments:

>Anyway, my question to you all, is does the "window" that has no paint on
it cause spine alignment >problems, would the frequency of the shaft be
changed because of the "window"?

I don't think the lack of a couple square inches of paint will affect the
spine reading at all. (That's the guess.)

Question: Have you any idea of the spine magnitude in that shaft? Since I
have had my NF2, that's been a real eye-opener for me. I've seen many shafts
that are at least half a flex from the NBP to the S1. And the higher priced
shafts don't seem to be any better than the cheap ones. SK Fiber's spine
magnitudes are the smallest that I've seen and the Apache PM-30s I have on
hand seem consistent shaft-to-shaft, though I haven't used any since they
became MCC.

>I contacted the Harrison Site, expecting some sort of resolution, wanting
to get a shaft without the >"window", but was told:
>"We want to thank you for your comments re. the window. Not paying for
anything that you cannot see is >as American as it gets. The window was
there for the simple reason that consumers may not believe >us if they
cannot see it."

Ha! That's funny. Harrison isn't concerned at all about the lies in their
ads, but has to show you they are honest in construction by leaving a hole
in the paint job. Amazing. (Couple more questions.) Since I won't buy a
Harrison shaft anymore, how big is the window through the thick paint job?
How close was the actual shaft weight to their spec weight for the shaft?

>"The yellow color is very difficult to control. Depending on the speed in
which the shaft is painted. It will >show different. Faster speed will give
you more orange color. Slow speed will give you lighter color. >The yellow
shafts are painted by a selected few workers to minimize differences.
Nevertheless, it is >done by human. There will be some differences."

Ooooh, that will make some Bang MY buyers very unhappy. Funny, but I haven't
seen any other shaft manufacturers with that kind of paint problem. Well, on
second thought, Graman's "champagne silver" paint on the TP440 varies just a
tad from time to time...but not to the extent a customer would notice it.
