I'd go ahead and build your NF2 when you get the time. It works great on an
individual basis. I can use my recorded deflections for raw shaft and
trimmed shaft to exactly duplicate a customer's broken shaft...or match any
club to his set with about 1/2 cpm accuracy, aligned properly and do it in
half the time required with a frequency machine and spine finder.
Hopefully, we'll figure out the calibration modifications in the next month
or two. I had another thought concerning the problem...would a $6.95 dial
indicator be consistent in its acuracy from piece-to-piece? When I saw that
metal workers were using dial indicators over $150, I had some doubts about
ours...that is, their consistency from one NF2 to another. Maybe not a
factor, though.
