Is anyone, hobbyist, cut and glue guy, professional, at all concerned over making clubs that are, if not exact duplicates of OEM stuff, close enough to be suspect?

On this subject............ I get customers in the store who look at my clubs and say "Oh you just have knockoffs" I answer "These are not knockoffs, these are design inspirations," point out the differences, explain materials, that all the shafts are freq. matched, spined, right flex, length, grip size and loft/lie adjusted for each individual. Explain the difference vs "off the rack"! Customer finds it hard to believe I do all that for the price. I explain that I don't pay endorsement money, have a large ad budget. They are usually SOLD and happy to save money. ALWAYS APPEAL TO "buyer's greed"!

If a customer still dwells on that dirty word "knockoff" I point to the auto dealership across the street and tell them to stop by the showroom, stand next to the mini van and in a loud voice say to the salesman, "I see you guys knocked off the Volkswagen mini bus!" Being in a suburb of the nation's automotive capital they get the idea! How original is a box on wheels anyway!
Who invented the "sand wedge" aren't they all design infringements?
Why sell Titanium Drivers, shallow faced fairway woods, LCG irons, steel or graphite shafts, grips not made out of leather?

Never say "just as good as, copies of, made in the same factory as! " SELL your service, expertise and VALUE.  NOT PRICE--------VALUE! Don't dicker price, it's an ugly trap that you won't get out of until you "price" yourself out of business. Be fair, treat you customer to COURTESY, SERVICE, CRAFTSMANSHIP & VALUE.

If your jeans are not made by Levi & Strauss Co. they are knockoffs.
If it's not a Chiquita it's not a banana!
Sure!
