To all,
The PCS is having it's annual Expo (convention) from Thursday, March 6th
through Sunday, March 9th, 2003, in Louisville Ky. It will be at the Gualt
House, downtown L'ville, right on the Ohio River. It starts off Thursday
evening with a "get acquainted" party. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, there
are several seminars, workshops and the Expo floor is open. There are many
many of your favorite component suppliers there. I believe that Friday
evening is the Annual Membership meeting, open only to members. Saturday
night is the Awards banquet, open to all. Every night (and into the wee
hours) is social hour at the bar and at various rooms. A great place to
meet and greet and put faces on names you see throughout the year. Not a
member? Read on.
The PCS has instituted a "guest" program. All you need is to know some
current PCS member, going to the Expo, to sponsor you as a guest. I
volunteer to sponsor, or find a sponsor, for any and all shoptalk
members. The price is right also. I have to pay $180 and you only have to
pay $130 (before Jan. 1st, $145 after). You will be entitled to everything
I am, except the Membership meeting. You are of course responsible for
your own transportation from home to the hotel and return, your hotel costs
etc. and any food or beverage costs, except for the dinners provided.
If interested, you may call the PCS at 1.800.548.6094. They will take the
necessary info and will accept credit card payments for the Expo. You must
make your own hotel reservations and can do so by contacting the Gault
House at 1.800.626.1814 (outside of Ky.). The rooms, by the way, are quite
large and easily accommodate 2 people in grand style. Well, with lots of
room to spare, anyway. ;-)
It would be great to see you there, and there are several shoptalk folks
that are also PCS members that will be attending. Give it some thought,
and if you decide to join us, make your hotel reservations early. I waited
too long one year and had to stay in Indiana. (actually, just on the other
side of the bridge over the Ohio.) Also, we (shoptalkers) usually make up
some "shoptalk" strips that fit inside your Expo badge so you can identify
fellow shoptalkers. Sooo, all y'all, come on down!
