It sounds like you may have used satin instead of clear urethane.. I use the clear type that comes in a spray can and spray several thin layers within three to four hours apart for best results.. Or you can spray then wait 48 hrs, lightly sand and spray again... But first way is better ...In the summer time I even set the club in the sun for a few hours after the urethane sets up for a while to help harden if it is on a shaft...

--- Begin Message --- Are you sure they use urethane for that clear coat? I would have thought lacquer on a metal surface like that. How about finding an auto parts store that sells automotive paint and use what they use to clear coat cars? Just a thought.
