JM;

That's basically what I said, I think. We all want to make (or buy) the best
equipment possible. No argument. And believe me, I've bought my share of
crappy gimmicks. However I did add the comment that no matter what a person
buys . . . be it golf stuff, fishing stuff, music stuff, or just about any
"stuff," if you can't use it well having the stuff probably won't help much.
I'm certainly not knocking anyone, just making observations based upon a lot
of wasted money. I should add one thing though. I did buy one "gimmick" that
clearly helped my short game; a Greg Norman Secret.

I had significant problems hitting 20 - 60 yard shots with the wedges; fat,
skulled, shanked, poor distance control, you name it. I tried just about
every damn thing I could find - a stick under the top of my glove, a comb
under a wrist band, an extra long shaft that hit my in the gut if I cupped
my wrist, and on and on. I bought the "Secret" in desperation. It worked! I
guess that's all one can really ask of a gimmick. I'm surprised it hasn't
hung around much.
