The first model #39535 is discontinued and no longer available.
Checked out all the suggestions, one is a visegrip arrangement to put on a drill press, other is a pneumatic clamp which could be adapted for a gripping vise (Mitchell just introduced this type of device).
The best solution I have found is incorporated on the shaft extractor we build and will be sold by our host, John Muir (hydraulic mode 4" clamping length) and Components Plus (maunal model 3" clamping length) Both models use a modified drill press vise to clamp the shaft. NO SLIPPAGE! Jaws conform to the shaft taper, "rubber" block is easily replaceable. Catalogues coming out soon.
