Here's my solution: "the dot of distinction". A contrasting small dot of paint just below the mouth of the grip (or course in line with the grip indexing mark) which indicates the shaft has been properly spine located. No it's not the spine it's "the dot of distinction" and it may or may not line up with the logo!
