Hi;

I just finished reading the catalog page by page. RK is correct I suppose
but I think that that crusty old fart doesn't have the patience to deal with
lessers. (Take that RK. Maybe I'll replace Vice Admiral Taylor on your screw
'em list? ;-)

But . . . but . . . the interesting things I saw in the catalog were mostly
in the club assembly area; e.g., remove grips with either a knife or a
hacksaw (!) And, cut steel shafts with a tubing cutter (o.k.) and graphites
with a hacksaw (not o.k. unless more info is provided.) Regripping? "Leave
2" of tape off the butt end of the club for sealing the butt end." That's
o.k. but 2"? Seems like a lot. I realize this may seem a quibble but wow! If
you're a new guy it can be confusing.

I note a couple of other things. Pricing. $.0.30 each for a ferrule? Kinda
high? I think so. Pix of mixie stix with no pricing? That's fine but why
show them? Interpretive, intuitive, rhetorical. I realize it appears I'm
being overly picky, but consider this blurb from the Leyland ad ( I must
paraphrase here since I don't have the catalog before me) "the Leyland xxx
shaft, the number one selling shaft in the US". Or words to that effect. I
can't remember, in the nearly 4 decades I've been mucking about with this
stuff, ever having sold a Leyland shaft - or for that matter, any Leyland
product. I've heard the name. I've heard good and bad comments about
it/them. But I'll be damned if I can recall ever having seen one. Other ads
are not to be blamed on CSG. Most particularly those from Harrison; but then
that's a subject for another post.

So. . . I'm not particularly pissed at CSG. They're a couple of guys trying
to make a living, as most all of us have done or are doing. I just don't
like the forwarding of information to the unsuspecting; many of whom will
and do take a lot of the crap sent as gospel. Man, I'm glad I'm retired!

I anxiously await delivery of my Harrison shafts that I will honestly and
honorably examine, test, and report upon.

Until then, I remain, your constant curmudgeon . . .

TFlan
