Tom,
Yeah, I know what you mean. But there are exceptions. One of the guys I
play with, named Ken (also an excellent tennis player in his day, and my
mentor for the kidney transplant...has had his 14 years), has a mother in
Florida age 94 who plays an executive-type course every day. He asked me to make
her a 9-wood about a year and a half ago, because she couldn't carry this one
pond with her irons any more and a 7W was too much. So, I put a 27 Cydonia LCG
on as soft a shaft as I could find and Ken gave it to her for her birthday.
Two weeks later I heard she had a hole-in-one with it on that same hole. The
lady has had over 20 aces...I have been playing for 61 years and have had two
back in the mid-70s. Maybe she'll give me some lessons. Delivered a new driver
to Ken's house around Christmas and met her for the first time. She's in
better shape than I am. Probably has another four or five aces left in
her.
