Tflan... Norton Utilities has a "wipe Info" utility (in System Maintenance) that will wipe selected files and/or folders. It will also wipe the free space on the hard drive without destroying any of your programs. You have a choice of fast wipe or Government DOD wipe. By default, some files are automatically protected (eg., .doc and .xls files in My Documents)
