Since GS publishes the shaft insertion depth, I'd take a slightly
undersized bit and drill it out.

Wrap masking tape around the drill bit to indicate the depth you
want. Make sure that you leave a 1/2-inch "flag" of tape after
you have wrapped the drill (i.e., don't wrap the entire length of
tape around the bit). With the "flag" is much easier to judge the
drill depth, as it is very noticeable when the "flag" touches the hosel.

It there is any remaining weight it is now much easier to heat and
remove.

I purchsed a SE FF320 driver head last fall and had it shafted with a Cleveland Launcher Gold pullout at 45". The swingweight came out much higher than I anticipated at D5 and does not work for me. It also developed a rattle so I was going to have pull the shaft anyway. I acquired a Pure Energy because I could stay at 45" and get a lighter swingweight.

After pulling the shaft and trying to remove the rattle I discovered that the rattle was caused by lead shot that has apparently been mixed with epoxy and added to the clubhead. I have removed a little of it but there still seems to be a fairly significant chunk of it remaining in the head. I guesstimate about 10g or so was added to the head. There was no weight in the hosel weight port. This is a little disappointing to me as I was not told about the added weight when I purchased the head.

What is the best way to break up and remove the remaining weight? Heating the sole of the club and tapping the head is tedius but has gotten some of it out. Is there an easier , faster way that doesn't require alterations to the head?
