As I mentioned earlier, hairspray works great for installing bike grips.
Haven't tried it on golf grips yet.
The clear putter grips originally made by Percise Grip is installed with hairspray. Another messy, smelly job requiring more expensive stuff to have around the shop. Just buy a compressor it's much more useful then hairspray! Run power tools with it, spray paint, general cleanup, inflate tires, etc. Can't do that with hairspray! Nor can you remove grips with hairspray! Only thing hairspray is good for is messing up the bathroom mirrors and the wall behind the user!
