You might consider Zone Alarm. It provides an excellent firewall for protection when you are connected and you can stop all internet activity immediately at any time with 2 clicks.

I've been reinstalling W2000 PRO since my dual installation with WinME tried to take over the world again. I'm now using W2k only. I set up an administrator, power user accounts for wife and grand kid to use. I wish to allow them to connect and disconnect from the internet using the task bar icon to enable/disable the cable access. I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. I tried using the permissions stuff but without success. I bought a book 3" thick that claims to tell how to do anything but they were wrong. Would appreciate any help on this. DeanS
