Taylor Made 6 iron to re-shaft with a royal precision rifle steel shaft in it. O.D. on the shaft is .390 and the label says R-80 rifle precision. Do any of you guys have a source for this shaft?
This shaft tip diameter is not available. You will have to shim the tip. Use brass shaft shim # 9588 .370" to fit .390". See page 111 top right corner of Golfsmith Catalogue.
Notes: Save the pin that Taylor Made put in the tip of the shaft. Put the pin through the shim. Pin may have to be sanded to fit into the new shaft. Be sure to clean the shim (inside and out) and abrade the shaft tip. Taylor Made R-80 is a Rifle 4.5 shaft!
