Hopefully most here know that the 'face milling' stories about PGA players' drivers 
are basically bogus....  That's not to say that any player may or may not have a 
driver in play that exceeds the COR limit because of production tolerances or 
something else, but grinding the face will only ruin the driver almost every time.

These guys are no different than the players from years ago that would find that one 
special persimmon driver, then sleep with it to make sure no one else got their paws 
on it.  Almost none of them would subject their #1 driver to a process that could 
reduce it to use only as a paperweight.  Especially Tiger, who is about the most anal 
with respect to his equipment.  They claim he can accurately identify the current crop 
of hot faced drivers vs older models (without looking at them) by listening to the 
sound they make as he rubs the sole on the grass.
