1.Has anyone ever used lead powder and cork above the hosel and
had it break from the stress? 2.How about smearing the tip pin with
epoxy and then pouring powder down the shaft to see how much weight
will stick to it? 3. I only need a couple of more grams and I cant find
1. Yes, it will break. Besides, the inside diameter on graphite is too small to accept much lead powder.
2. No, not enough will stick.
3. Ah, here is the real question! ANSWER: if by "a couple" more grams (that means 2 grams) the solution is to weigh out 2 grams of "plumber's wool" which is coarse lead wool (looks like steel wool) and roll it into a ball and drop it down the hosel, place head in vise and with a large nail (head down in the hosel) smash the lead wool with a couple of hammer blows on the point of the nail. Lead wool will compress to almost nothing! Add shaft pin, assemble in usual manner, job is done.
I just did it to a head and measured the hosel depth .......no change.
Now that was just too easy.
Another suggestion is a lighter grip but you may not get a grip you like.
