Talormade has just 7-Sand irons rest is Driver & 4 rescue clubs for $1,200/set.
Ping has full line of irons and Driver & 5 fairway woods in a u-pick-it kind of set. Pings irons have a wide top line & the sole looks to be 3 times wider then anything I have seen before. Ping will sell them at $135 each iron and $260 each wood. All the wide soles are designed for the sweeping swing of women vrs the downward take a diviot swing of men. The article also says that over 1 million women are now taking up golf each year. Sounds like the big 3 are going after a new market.
I sure would like to know if the new Callaway designs work

I just finished reading the special report in Golf for Women Sept/Oct issue on the new club designs for women. Callaway, Taylormade & Ping are all introducing revolutionary new club designs made just for women with their slower swing speeds. The Callaway design looks the strangest. Tom Wishon is quoted in the article so maybe he knowns some design facts. Has anyone got to look at the new designs, any information on flex, swingweight head weights, etc. would be a help. My wife read the article, and had it on top of my coffee cup to read this morning. She want to know when I plan to build her a correct set. I have not even seen any components similar to some of the designs. The Callaway woods are strange & the irons look like some older rescue heads with the open cavity back. The say that all of the clubs have wider soles, lower CG, and higher bounce with wider loft spacing between clubs. They make a statement about how women hit their 8 iron farther then their 4 iron, which my wife has been telling me for years. She now blames not being able to break 100 on my in-ability to built her clubs that fit, with the correct lofts, sw, length, head weight, etc., etc., etc. I can see right now I am not going to get a lot of sleep, until I find what she believes she needs and she is already on the phone talking to her lady golfing friends.
