San Antonio, TX - September 22, 2003 - Advanced Shaft Dynamics, Ltd. has launched an ASD branded line of PEAK PERFORMANCE LOCATED(TM) golf shafts incorporating the company's Centroidal Axis Technology(TM). The initial product launch includes two graphite driver shaft models, the PD-70 and the PD-80, as well as a graphite fairway wood shaft, the PF-85. ASD's distinctive black and purple colored shafts were unveiled today on the PGA TOUR at The Valero Texas Open.
ASD looks to parlay its success in the market, and on the PGA TOUR where the company has performed work for over 90 players during the 2003 season. "Our technology has been proven to dramatically improve golf shaft stability and increase performance, resulting in longer, straighter shots. It is time we made it available on a larger scale," said Phil Talamonti, ASD's founder. "Response from those who have seen our shafts, or tested them on TOUR, has been extremely enthusiastic."
"Introducing premium, high-modulus graphite golf shafts incorporating Centroidal Axis Technology(TM) was a logical next step for our company given that we have a real and beneficial technology to bring to the industry," continued Talamonti. "The road may lead toward our licensing the technology to certain select others at some point, but for now we will be the only company offering shafts that have been manufactured and analyzed pre-paint, and logo'd in accordance with each shaft's PEAK(TM) assembly orientation position."
ASD's retail distribution strategy involves making its shafts available to consumers through ASD Authorized Dealers, original golf equipment manufacturers, retailers, and catalogs. Modifications are presently being made to the ASD website at advancedshaft.com that will feature product purchase options, and the company indicates that shipments of its branded shafts into the market could begin as early as two weeks from now. ASD will also continue to PEAK(TM) non-ASD branded shafts as a service for its Dealers for subsequent assembly of those shafts in the consumer market.
ASD's technology conforms with USGA Rules. In independent testing, golf clubs using shafts that have undergone ASD's analysis and assembly process produced longer, more accurate shots. PEAK PERFORMANCE LOCATED(TM) shafts, as well as golf clubs that utilize such shafts, are said to be "PEAKED(TM)" or "LOCATED(TM)", which are tradenames of ASD.
