Irons are made mostly from steel today of various blends. Woods are made mostly from steel and titanium today of various blends. There is no such thing as a "metal" - in spite of what they say on TV coverage of golf. You want to call it a "metal wood" fine, but don't abbreviate it to "metal" for pity sakes - that sounds simply stupid. I'm sorry. Off soapbox. -t
