Hi Dave,

Not sure I would go cheap on driver head, IMO the bigger the better for a  women just learning.  I would go with  Hireko's Power Play 5000 in 450cc cost is about $50 but you can get it in 12 or 14 deg loft.  I would go with the 12 if I were building the set.  I would use a mid size 3 wood something with a big enough head so she can hit it off the tee on long par 3's. You would want 15-16 deg loft' there are several in the $15-$20 range Integra's VS88II, the TM Series 6 from Hireko. or Wishon's 730, that one is pretty, but $30, for a 5 wood I would go with a Super Concorde that gives a low profile head for the tight lies. Based on the new information in "Golf for Women" mag. I would only build a 5,7,9  Utility irons. Hireko made the Velociteque Heavy sole all the way up to 42 deg. but has discontinued this head, they still had some in stock 2 weeks ago when I ordered them for my wife. If you add a sandwedge and putter, according to Callaway 3 woods and 3 irons is all a women needs to whip up on us men on the course.
Maybe somebody else knows where you can get the 27,34,42 deg. Utility Style Iron Heads (.370 bore)

Last weekend my wife beat her best score by 5 shots. She said that not having all the different irons never helped her anyways. She spent a couple of days on the range getting used to the clubs, and seems to like the new 3W,3I,SW,P set very much.

Hi all
Can I get any suggestions for
wood & iron components for women.
My wife has decided she would like
to take a swing at golf?
I would like to build her a few clubs at first to see.
I have not found many components specifically for
women.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance.
