Mark, have you ever checked out http://www.efloridagolf.com/discounts_all.asp ?? They've got some really good deals - the drawback is that their tickets are for 4 fees w/carts, good for 60 days from time of purchase and in some limited quantity, so it would be difficult to get the right number. However, we found him to be very accomodating when we used his services last year and were quite impressed so contact him if you think it's worthwhile. The most we paid (1st 2 weeks in January) was $200 for 4 fees w/carts (and that was only 1 course - I think there was another @ $180 and maybe the next was $120, can't remember for sure) and we played some very nice courses - at least we thought so ... Golden Bear at Keene's Point, Hawk's Landing, Mystic Dunes, Harmony ... and I think we paid as little as $60-80 for Stoneybrook East and others at that level, still pretty decent courses.

Don't know if it would work for the Shoptalk Open, but thought I'd mention it.

oops, that email prompted me to call them for rates during the show
I don't think we are taking the 6th ST Open there unless 1 of us wins the lottery and feels generous :)

Chris, you just need to come a little south. I have this nice new
course (Grande lakes at Ritz Carlton) maybe 4 miles away that I
haven't played yet. (yet?!?, I haven't been playing much period w/
work at 75 hours a week)
Maybe the site of the 6th? (is it 6 already?) ST Open.

Maybe we will get a larger attendance this year.

I'm not sure what you're looking for. The nearest PCS guy is
40 miles away and across the lake from NO. The area is
serviced by two Edwin Watts store, 1 Nevada Bob's, and one
Golf Etc. There are two 'custom guys'. One has a pretty good
store going where they sell OEM and component clubs. The
other is a mom and pop, where pop doesn't have a clue what's
going on.
New Orleans is not a golf rich environment. If you see prices
on the web to play the courses here, you'll be giddy with
excitement. It's not very high priced. However, you get what
you pay for. I work at a 96 hole facility, and the course
conditions are getting much better. I came from NW Illinois
where there were (are) some very nice golf courses. My
transplant here has been a golf culture shock. Let me know if
you need any other information.

I would like to communicate by email with any club
maker/club fitting individual that may have a small shop
located near New Orleans.
