Do you know of any tricks to put a ferrule in its place? I have two clubs where the ferrule has crept up the shaft quite a bit.
My ferrule removal tool works well to move the ferrule up the shaft so that you can use a quarter inch wide sanding belt (save an old one inch and cut/tear it into quarter inch width) to rough up the shaft above the hosel so this won't happen again. Apply epoxy and use the tool above the ferrul to push it down into place. Wipe off epoxy squeeze out, allow to cure, turn and polish ferrule in usual manner.
Regarding gaps between ferrules and hosel tops. Take some of that "ferrule lace" the stuff that comes off when turning ferrules and in a GLASS dish dissolve the "lace" with acetone till you have a thick paste. With a toothpick fill the gap with the paste. It will dry in a few minutes. When dry, turn and polish the ferrule in the normal manner. This methol will correct a "butcher" job that someone else did to the ferrule with a pair of pliers!
