Steve,
Here's what I do. After wetting the tape and the inside of the grip, clamp the club with the leading edge of the face straight up and down. Then slide the grip on and adjust it until the alignment marks on the front of the grip are even with the clubface (straight up and down). Most grips have some kind of alignment notch at either the top of the grip, the bottom of the grip, or both. These are exactly opposite of the rib on the bottom side. Get them aligned right and the rib will be aligned right. I'm to the point now, that I don't even bother clamping the club. I just hold it and eyeball it. It doesn't take much practice to get it where 99 percent of the golfers will never notice the difference. (and most of the other 1 percent doesn't play with ribbed grips). Hope this helps.

What is the easiest way to install grips that have the rib in them? I have a
couple of sets that I have to do and I always have problems getting the rib
centered.
