My web pages (particularly forms) and e-mails occasionally have a "smudged" appearance. The forms are especially bad, the highlighting and vertical line borders are such that it is hard to even tell if you have entered the correct information. The smudging usually appears near the cursor, where the cursor has been, or where an item would be highlighted but not always.
I'm running Win98. The smudging appears both in Netscape 7.1 and IE 6.0 browsers. Use Netscape for mail.
I THINK the problem appeared shortly after I installed Netscape 7.1, but other software was installed as well.
I'm not even sure what to call this problem (color map corruption?) so that I can look further into this.
Any help would be appreciated.
