Hi Greg Z
I had the same question but ended up buying the real MP-30 heads in left hand offering.  They were hand picked for tight weight, assembled with taper-tip X100 shafts, not cut to length, not adjusted for loft and lie, no swingweight adjustment, grips not installed, and came with extra factory ferrules.  Mizuno knew we just wanted the heads but legally they had to glue the shaft to the iron.  We bought 2 to 9 iron, plus an extra 7 iron to be used as a practice club.  Edwin Watts sells this set for $799 USD for 8 irons, so basically $100 USD / head.  These MP-30's  are now being reshafted with TT X-flex parallel tipped steel shaft.  Wmight install the pulled X100 taper shafts in a 20 year old set of MacGregor Jack Nicklaus Muirfield forged blades LH.  My son Duane will play the new MP-30's, and retire his Muirfield blades to his backup set of clubs.  The MP-30 is absolutely stunning at address.  Another shallow cavity back forging is the KZG Cavity Back, but its not a MP-30 copy, not even close.
Mizuno MP-30 forgings are a work of art, with the price tag to match.  Ouch on the pocketbook, but maybe he will shoot another course record.
Thanks Harry S

Subject:  ShopTalk: Mizuno MP30 "like" head

I have a friend with Mizuno blades that is looking for a MP 30 copy, look-alike or (dare I say it) clone. Has anyone come across that kind of animal?

TIA,

Greg Z
