Gerry,
Your wife is correct. Botox is a toxin but
has been used safely through injection for cosmetic purposes (removing wrikles
is the big one). For a time, Botox parties were in vogue with the "in
crowd".

Richard, My daughter has Cerebral Palsy and I have heard of
a similar treatment wherein spastic muscles are injected with Botox. Usually
done with people with Cerebral Palsy or other such conditions causing
spasticity, to keep the muscles from "locking up" , so your Neurologist seems
to be recommending a method usually used on muscles. My daughter also has a
problem with excessive saliva and has been taking Robinol™ for about 3 or 4
years. It helps quite a bit. When I showed my wife your post she seemed
concerned about a "poison" i.e. Robinol, being injected in a gland. She is
NOT a nurse doctor etc. but does keep abreast of these things. So I'd ask
about that and of course research potential interactions with other drugs you
might be taking. Hope this helps!

Guy's / Gals, I need some help, now golf related but health
wise. I just returned from my trip up to DUKE U. to visit a new
brain doc. He wants to give me botox treaments in my slava
glands to help stop the drooling, no cure, in fact there is no known cure
for my illness, just a prolonged downward spirial of my health.
But as he put it although there is no known cure for what I have got he
stated that my quality of life will be improved with this
treatment. Does anybody know of anybody that has had Botox
treatment in their Salava glands/??? And if they did how/ what
was their outcome????
TIA
