Keith:
The problem I have found is finding an acceptable "ferrule". I have never found a source for these.

Hi Keith,

I pulled a few of my son's a couple of years ago to spine and align them
properly.  I made notes, but cannot find them.  I can't spare the time to
locate it.

I found there was a steel shaft inside the fat graphite running some 6"
above the hosel into the hosel.  The fat part did not go down inside.

Subject: ShopTalk: Fat shaft removal

Aloha all! I have a customer who wants his Fat shaft (steel shaft)
iron heads sent out for refinishing. Has anyone here successfully
removed the heads from these irons and then re-installed them? I am
led to believe that there is a plastic plug that joins the head and
shaft, and I am worried that I will melt or deform it during the
removal process. Has Billy Bob or anyone else come up with an after
market replacement? Needless to say I am not going anywhere on this
job until I talk to someone who has done it before. TIA - Keith
