Cheapest impact label I've found is a piece of 2" wide masking tape. Just put a piece on the face and whack away.
I've had mixed success with masking tape for this purpose. One brand I used on a driver face, I could not see the marks at all. Can't explain it. Pretty sure I was striking the ball. :)
