Guy's & Gal's, Why do I need a host for my web site ?? Please check it out if you have time, still needs some fix''in up though

Technically, you do not need a host for a web site. Assuming you do not have any contractual prohibitions in the user agreement you accepted when you signed up with your ISP, you can host it yourself (I run two sites right here on this machine).

However, having a web host saves you a lot of trouble and shields you from a lot of threats on the net. It also normally gains you considerable bandwidth.

All in all, if you're not web savvy, don't have a fast DSL outgoing connections, and don't have the time and expertise to screw around with the little net bastards who want to tear down your site, steal your bandwidth, and use you as an unwitting host for all manner of illegal software and high octane porn, you are better off to pay the host to do the dirty work for you.
